Common faults of dry-type transformers

  1.The insulation resistance of the iron core to ground is zero

  The resistance is zero,indicating a solid connection between the metals(possibly due to burrs,metal wires,etc.,being painted onto the iron core,with both ends overlapping between the iron core and the clamp;insulation damage on the foot causing the iron core to be connected to the foot;metal objects falling into the low-voltage coil causing the pull plate to be connected to the iron core;).Solution:Use lead wire to poke down the channel between the iron core stages of the low-voltage coil,and after confirming that there are no foreign objects,check the insulation condition of the feet.If it still cannot be solved.The following methods can be adopted:connect the ground wire end of the welding machine to the grounding plate,click the foot with the welding rod(current of about 250A),and solve the problem with just one click.

  2.Travel switch malfunction or abnormal action

  The travel switch is a device that protects the operator when the transformer is running with electricity.If the transformer is live,the contact of the travel switch should be immediately closed when any shell door is opened,so that the alarm circuit is connected and the alarm is triggered.

  3.Common faults during the operation of temperature controllers

  During operation,temperature control may trigger an alarm when the temperature is not exceeded(or does not trigger an alarm when the alarm temperature is exceeded),or trip when the temperature is not exceeded(or does not trip when the trip temperature is exceeded).At this point,it is necessary to check whether the set temperature value of the thermostat is accurate and whether the temperature measuring element is placed accurately after the transformer stops running.If it is not accurate,adjust the set value of the thermostat and reposition the temperature measuring element of the thermostat.If you encounter any other situations,please contact the company's customer service department for resolution.

  4.The insulation resistance of the iron core to ground decreases

  This phenomenon is usually caused by moisture.As is well known,after insulation materials become damp,the insulation resistance will decrease.Solution:Place an iodine tungsten lamp under the low voltage coil and bake continuously for 12 hours.As long as the insulation resistance of the iron core and high and low voltage coils is low due to moisture,the insulation resistance value will correspondingly increase.

  5.During the handover test,there is a discharge sound when performing power frequency withstand voltage

  There are several possibilities.The pull plate can be positioned at the tightening point of the clamp to discharge electricity.A gun can be used to strike here to ensure good conductivity between the pull plate and the clamp,and the problem can be solved;Pad crawling,especially in high-voltage products(35kV),has caused this phenomenon.Strengthen the insulation treatment of the pad;High voltage cables that are loosely connected to connection points or insulated close to tap boards or corner connectors can also produce discharge sounds.Increase the insulation distance and tighten the bolts again to solve the problem.Check if there are dust particles on the inner wall of the high-voltage coil.Due to the moisture absorption of the particles,insulation may decrease and discharge may occur.

  6.During power transmission shock,the shell and the floor iron plate discharge

  The conductivity between the aluminum alloy plates of the shell is not good enough,which belongs to poor grounding.Method:Use a 2500MΩshaking table to break down the insulation of the board or scrape off the paint film of each connection part of the shell and connect it to the ground with copper wire.

  7.The corner joint connecting pipe is burnt out.

  Carefully inspect the blackened area of the high-voltage coil and scrape off the blackest part with a knife or iron plate.If the carbon black is removed and red paint appears,it indicates that the insulation inside the coil is not damaged and the coil is mostly in good condition.Determine whether the coil is short circuited by measuring the transformation ratio.If the transformation ratio is normal,it indicates that the fault is caused by an external short circuit that causes arcing and burns out the corner tube.
